=== Vacation on Amrum === A peaceful and relaxing vacation in North Frisia can be spent in a vacation flat on Amrum. The southernmost of the North Frisian islands is at the same time the smallest and quietist of the island group. The six kilometer long island has 2,300 residents. Anyone who would like to rent a vacation flat will be sure to find one in the five island towns. The selection of lodgings is especially large in the chief town of Nebel. Between dunes and pine forests there is a flourishing small town life. Visible from afar is the lighthouse, the emblem of the town. The Romanesque Clemens church rewards a visit. On the southern entrance to the town one finds a cemetery of seafarers whose names are unknown. Anyone who books a vacation house on Amrum in Wittdün is staying on the southern tip of the island and can reach the neighboring island of Föhr, and Dagebüll on the mainland by boat. The North Sea health spa of Norddorf is the northernmost island town. The oldest town on the island, Norddorf was founded in 1890. South of the town one can visit a Vogelkoje, an area of marshland where in former times ducks where caught. Today it is a nature resort. In the natural science museum vacationers who rent a vacation house on Amrum can learn much valuable information about the islands and environmental protection in the Wadden Sea. Hikes lead to the Amrumer Odde, a large nature resort. Regular guided tours are offered. On the island’s highest dune there is a viewing platform. The Norddorfer lighthouse and pretty Frisian buildings are popular photo motifs.
