Short description

Green Pastures of the Isle of Skye was built at the turn of the century as a croft cottage. Since the the cottage has been lovingly and thoughtfully decorated to create a comfortable and luxurious self catered holiday home for guests. The cottage is fully double glazed and has oil fired central heating throughout so it cosy and airy all year round.

    The cottage is a great place to explore by foot, climbing and mountaineering. There are the notorious Black Cuillin mountains, Trotternish Ridge and the Quirang. There are plenty of winding coastal paths, some of which are the highest sea cliffs in Britain. You are bound to see some unforgettable seascapes and dramatic landscapes. If you prefer cycling there are some fabulous mountain bike routes, or quieter roads, for those who like going at their own pace! If you want to see the island from a different point of view why not give pony trekking ago? or from a boat ride? There are plenty of places to rent kayaks and explore the nooks and crannies if the isles fascinating coast. There are many beaches and rock pooling perfect for children.

    The island has some fantastic wildlife, you may be lucky enough to spot a Golden Eagle or magnificent Sea Eagle. There are plenty of other birds which are inhabitants to the isle, such as Divers, Gannets and Guillemots. Swimming around the coast are Dolphins, porpoises and occasionally Minke Whales.

    Just 10 miles away is the Dunveagan Castle and Gardens, the home of the Macleod Clan. There is also the Aemadale Castle in the south of the Island that has its own Clan Museum. You can also reach the Eilean Donan Castle a wonderfully atmospheric and beautiful place to explore.

                The cottage has been newly renovated to create a perfect bolt hole during your Island holiday. There is a newly installed and fully equipped kitchen where you will find everything that you need including dishwasher, washer dryer, electric oven, hob and contemporary extractor, fridge and freezer, and microwave to coffee maker. You can sit around the breakfast bar with your morning coffee, under the zoned lighting that you can set to your moods! The room is light and warm with large windows, the radiator and under floor heating make the space cosy even in the winter.
                The living room is spacious and cosy with plenty of places to kick back and relax after a days hiking.

                The property has two bedrooms, the master has a king size bed large picture windows which overlook the ocean. It’s a gorgeous room to wake up in, with the morning sun and the unbelievable views you are sure to have a relaxing time.

                The second bedroom is also gorgeously light and houses two twin beds.

                The family bathroom has been fitted with a contemporary suite with a bath and large rain-shower over. There is under floor heating and a radiator so id cosy for a relaxing soak.

                The cottage has a large hall, and a boot room/utility entrance at the rear where you can store your muddy boots and outdoor clothes.

                Outside there is a neat enclosed garden with sitting area, a vegetable patch, washing line if you like to hang clothes out, plus all the croft land which leads down to the edge of the cliff and up behind the house.

                There is plenty of parking by the side of the house, and sheds where you will find bikes for your use.

                We have a cross trainer in the cottage for people to use, and there are also bikes available free of charge

                The most special feature is the view!

                How can I book an accommodation?
                We distinguish between two booking types on our website. The landlord decides which type of booking he likes to offer, so that only one is possible per accommodation. You can see the valid booking type on the right side of the property listing under the price per night.

                Properties with Enquiry Booking: To book an accommodation please contact the landlord by phone or via the contact form on the property listing. It is impossible to book such properties directly online on our website.

                Properties with Online Booking: To book an accommodation directly and bindingly online, please enter your travel period, the number of guests and calculate the valid price. Afterwards, please complete the booking form in three easy steps. Alternatively, you can also use our telephone booking service.

                Under which conditions can I book an accommodation?
                Basically, the accommodation has to be vacant in your requested travel period. Furthermore, the conditions, such as max. number of guests, the minimum stay, the valid arrival and departure days have to be observed.

                Please note: The rental contract is always concluded between the tenant and the landlord. Travanto is just the intermediary.

                Is the accommodation vacant and bookable in my requested travel period?
                In general, you are able to rent the accommodation, if your travel period is marked as vacant in the availability calendar. You can find the calendar nearly at the end of the property listing.

                If a rental price can be calculated, a booking of the property is possible in your requested travel period. For further information about where and how you can calculate the rental price, please read the answer to question no. 6.

                There might be vacant periods which you are unable to book. Please see question no. 16 for more information.

                Is it possible to cancel my booking?
                Yes, but please note that in case of a cancellation by the tenant the landlord might charge a cancellation fee. This applies in general when a rental contract has been already concluded bindingly.

                How do I calculate the total rental price?
                Please specify your arrival and departure dates by typing them in directly or using the calendar on the right side of this page. Alternatively, you can use the availability calendar right below the rental prices by clicking on the dates. Afterwards you enter the number of guests and, if necessary, select optional additional services. You receive the total rental price now, which includes at least the total accommodation price including the final cleaning. Surcharges for additional guests, discounts and optional additional services are also included, if stated. All prices include VAT. Whether the tourist tax is included or not is displayed below the total rental price.

                Do I have to pay a security deposit?
                If a security deposit is required, please see the "Additional Price Information" in the "Rental Prices" section on this page.

                What happens after I have booked an accommodation?
                Once you have made a binding booking, you will immediately receive a booking confirmation via e-mail. If you cannot find the e-mail in your inbox, please check also your spam folder. You will also receive the contact details of the landlord and the property address via e-mail as soon as we determine the payment receipt on our bank account.

                If there are only 5 days between the booking and the arrival date, you will immediately receive the contact details of the landlord and the address of the accommodation via e-mail. In the case you booked an accommodation of our cooperation partners, you will immediately receive the booking confirmation as well as the contact details of the landlord and the property address. Please note our payment modalities and conditions at any time (see question no. 4).

                Is it possible to exceed the maximum number of guests?
                In general it is impossible to exceed the maximum number of guests. Not even if you organise more sleeping facilities by yourself. Children, regardless of age, are considered as a guest. The indicated rental price is only valid for the maximum possible number of guests.

                Are there discounts for children?
                Some properties offer special rates for children. You can recognize those accommodations, if you are asked about the amount and the age of the travelling children in the price calculation. If this is not the case, the stated prices apply to all guests (regardless of age).

                Where is my accommodation located?
                You can see the location of your accommodation on a map in the "Location" section on this page. Right below this map, you will find distances to interesting places e.g. city center, beach, ski lift or the next shopping possibility. Furthermore, an individual text written by the landlord gives you more information about your holiday destination.

                You find the information about the floor right below the pictures of the accommodation at the top of this page.

                Are pets allowed?
                Whether you can bring your pets or not, please read the information in the "Features" section on this page. In general, the term "Pets not allowed" means that it is not permitted to bring any kind of pets at all.

                When are the check-in and check-out times for my accommodation?
                You find the check-in and check-out times under "General Information" in the "Property description" section on this page, if the landlord has entered these information. Deviations from this regulation can be discussed individually. If your arrival/departure has to be very early/late, we will gladly clarify this with the landlord, if the accommodation is only bookable online. If you chose a property with Enquiry Booking, please contact the landlord directly about this issue.

                How does the handover and the return of the keys take place?
                The key handover and return has to be clarified directly with the landlord. Please see question no. 18 to learn more about how and when you can contact your landlord.

                Why is a price calculation impossible, even though the accommodation is vacant?
                There may be various reasons for this:

              • Your travel period undercuts the given minimum stay.
              • Your desired date of arrival/departure is impossible according to the landlord's settings.
              • A gap in the calendar is impossible to rent, if it undercuts the minimum stay, e.g. A gap of three nights is not bookable, if the given minimum stay is five nights.
              • You cannot book an accommodation, if your desired travel period causes a gap which is lower than the minimum stay.
              • Your requested arrival date is too short-term.
              • Since some of our accommodations are from cooperation partners, it is possible that the given data may not be up-to-date. In this case your desired travel period may be no longer available in the price calculation.

                My requested travel period is below the minimum stay. How can I continue?
                In this case your desired travel period is not bookable. You can extend your stay, if this is an option for you or you search for another accommodation with an appropriate minimum stay.
